Hi, my name's Lance Davis, and with the help of Kevin Humphries I am the owner and operater of Star Plumbing and Gas Ltd.
I established Star Plumbing and Gas Ltd. in 1996 because our community in the greater Palmerston North region needed more plumbers, and better quality plumbing services. Setting out to promote professionalism, integrity and honesty, over the years I have cultivated a plumbing and gasfitting business that is as full of expertise as it is passion.
With a combined knowledge base of over 87 years we are recognised for our high level of expertise, especially in commercial and industrial gasfitting.
It's this knowledge base that has fuelled our growth into a successful plumbing and gasfitting company. But when asked what sets us apart, we won't say our many years of experience - because it's our cheerful and humorous approach to our work and to you, our customers, which is truly unique.

Lance Davis
Years experience: 28
Qualifications: Certifying Plumber, Certifying Gasfitter, Licensed Drainlayer, Trade Persons Electrical Certificate and First Aid.
Lance began as a sole trader in 1990 upon his return from abroad. As the work load grew Lance began to pass on his knowledge by training apprentices, and signed his first in 1994. He is the creator of Star Plumbing, and over the years has created an excellent rapport with both the Manuwatu and Horowhenua community.
Lance predominantly works in a customer relations role, quoting jobs and acting as the project manager through until completion, meeting and exceeding customer expectations.
When he's not working, Lance is a family man and enjoys time at the beach with his children - fishing, swimming and building sand castles.
Kevin Humphries
AKA: Kev
Years experience: 36
Qualifications: Licensed Certifying Gasfitter, David Forman Diplomas in Marketing, Advanced Sales and Management of the Sales Force, Limited Electrical License - Class A, First Aid.
Authorised service agent for: Rinnai, Bosch, Aber and Moffatt Appliances.
Kevin has 36 years experience working in the gas industry having had positions ranging from apprentice, foreman, and gas inspector to managing positions at NGC and Star Plumbing and Gas Ltd (since 1999).
Kev has many talents including gardening, art and enjoys a spot of fishing for relaxation.
Kevin manages the daily operations of Star Plumbing and Gas Ltd answering customer calls, allocating jobs to our team and supervising jobs as required by legislation. He also helps to maintain a highly professional presence with continual upskilling through our service agencies.
Thomas Coogan
AKA Tommy Weka
Years experience: 6
Qualifications: National Certificate Plumbing & Gas Fitting, Licensed Plumber & Gas Fitter, First Aid
Authorised service agent for: Rinnai, Bosch, Aber and Moffatt Appliances
Tommy has gained an extensive knowledge of the Plumbing & Gas Fitting industry and has an excellent customer focus. He is a problem solver with customer satisfaction as his primary goal.
Tommy and his partner Brigid have two children of primary school age. He is a devoted family man with a penchant for collecting memorabilia (hence his AKA Weka). Tommy also has a background with the Department of Conservation and is a keen advocate of preserving New Zealand's natural resources and wildlife.
This greenie has become an integral part of Star Plumbing & Gas Ltd. From the beginning of his apprenticeship through to his registration, Tommy has kept his finger on the pulse of the technology changes of the trade with continuous competency training.
